AIM
To prove that permaculture techniques and biosphere research provide a new perspective for local organic food production in self-sustainable northern European cities.
ABSTRACT
When everything is connected, for better or worse, everything matters. Heightened levels of climate change, and pollution, and water and food shortages are the driving forces behind the new vision for self-sustaining cities. In the near future, cities will feed themselves using the currently available sunlight, not unlike the way forests do. Forest systems highlight the extreme possibilities that exist in densification, biodiversity, conservation and food production.
