Friends of Birley Fields meeting: getting the ball rolling

A-fe-We pub (a.k.a. The Grants Arms), Royce Road, Hulme

This meeting will follow on from the discussions at the Hulme Alliance meeting and the public meeting last week. There will be opportunity to discuss plans to oppose the proposals and also plans to work with MMU to get a better deal for residents.

It also ties in with the People's Kitchen: vegan meal for £1.50 at 7.00pm.

Birley Fields permaculture design project

The 2006 Summer Programme

provided a Permaculture Design Course for local people, certified by the British Permaculture Association. The project linked up with local campaign group, Friends of Birley Fields, and participants worked hard to develop sustainable urban designs for the 40 acre site, as an alternative to the commercial regeneration strategy that had been proposed by the council.
