Offshoots Permaculture Project & the Permaculture Association are planning a North West regional networking and skill-sharing event on the weekend of the 14th/15th November 2009. It will be at Offshoots, which is set in the grounds of the lovely Towneley Hall in Burnley.

We'd like to know if members of the Permaculture Association would be interested in coming to learn new skills, or share existing ones and have put together this very short questionnaire to find out what you'd like.

Sounds of Offshoots

A couple of weeks ago a few of us from Manc went and visited Burnley Offshoots. Since then I've discovered this excellent instrumental electroacoustic music on myspace by a guy called Lee Gregory (or Random Lee). The track is called Offshoots, Illness & Angry Troll Bash The Little Pixies, and is composed entirely using field recordings from Offshoots Permaculture. Far out dude ..

Listen to it here.

The next Manchester Permaculture event will be a visit to the Offshoots Permaculture project, located within a large walled garden, at Townley Hall just outside Burnley town centre. It is one of the most outstanding permaculture projects in the country, featuring organic gardens, ecological buildings, green woodworking and yurt building, community composting, renewable energy, grey water recycling, compost toilets, and much more. In addition the site provides a venue for a wide variety of training, events, community activities, health and well-being, and social enterprise.
